Laptem Haz-Pro™ System
Sustainability Profile
As the impact businesses have on the environment becomes a greater concern, LAPTEM look toward solutions that are truly sustainable.
Laptem Haz-Pro™ Barrier, provides a valuable function while conserving resources, improving efficiency and avoiding waste, often through the entire life cycle of the product.
Minimum Input, Maximum Benefit
A one-millimetre thickness of Haz-Pro™ Barrier has about the same gas barrier properties as ten metres of LDPE. With such high performance, even a Haz-Pro™ Barrier layer of only a few microns adds real function to the multilayer conduit structure.
Recyclable & Recoverable
The Laptem Haz-Pro™ Barrier layer is recyclable as post-consumer plastic waste and will not disrupt polyolefin recycling streams. The Laptem Haz-Pro™ Barrier has excellent and safe energy recovery properties, often reducing the amount of extra fuel necessary for energy generation from the thermal disposal of sorted waste.
Laptem is in the process of finalising their off-cut recycling program. This will allow installers to return un-used conduit off-cuts to be recycled free of charge. Stay tuned
HDPE Eco-Benefits
Laptem Haz-Pro™ Forecourt Conduit gets industrial strength & flexibility from HDPE. The HDPE material is an environmentally stable plastic, giving off no harmful fumes. Manufacturing of HDPE requires only a fraction of the energy required to produce steel. HDPE production does not generate any waste, due to scraps or off-spec products being re-introduced into less demanding HDPE applications.
